We triggered an avalanche from a flat ridgeline above the first steep slope we approached in the Taylor Fork today (1/11/24). As we continued riding we got cracks shooting out 50-100 ft anywhere there was a little bit of wind loading and triggered another slide on a small test slope ~2.5 ft deep. These are all clear demonstrations of a very unstable snowpack.
