Country music legend Ray Stevens underwent surgery on Monday after suffering a heart attack late last week, and according to the most recent update he appears to be recovering well.

Taste of Country reports the country music legend was admitted to a Nashville hospital after he began experiencing chest pain. He underwent a heart catheterization procedure, citing a statement from his publicity team, that confirmed that he’d had a heart attack.

Country star Ray Stevens is recovering after suffering a minor heart attack and undergoing surgery. His July shows at the Nashville-based CabaRay Showroom have been canceled while he recovers.
