The Taiwan-based Foxconn, a key supplier of Apple products in India, has instructed its hiring agents to remove age, gender, and marital status criteria from job ads for iPhone assembly workers. The company has also asked agents to exclude Foxconn’s name from the advertisements,

Foxconn employs sevral workers at its Tamil Nadu plant, many of whom are women. It outsources recruitment to third-party agencies responsible for scouting and screening before final interviews

Apple iPhone maker Foxconn reportedly ordered its Indian hiring vendors to remove certain job criteria such as age, gender, and marital status from the advertisement. The company did not comment on whether or not it had ended restrictions on employment norms.

Foxconn, which employs thousands of women at the iPhone factory at Sriperumbudur, near Chennai, has outsourced recruitment of assembly-line workers to third-party vendors.
