Big changes are taking place at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom – and the park map is now dramatically different. If you haven’t yet seen the latest version of the Magic Kingdom map, you’re in for a surprise.

Rivers of America has been part of Frontierland and Liberty Square since 1971, when Disney World first opened.

Walt Disney World is closing several iconic attractions beginning Monday to make room for a brand-new land. Frontierland's Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat at Magic Kingdom will shut down on July 7 as Disney prepares to bring a national park-themed area called Piston Peak to life.
